How many of us have been told things that sounded good, but there was no action to back up the words that were being told to us? We have all been a victim of such orchestrated promises. The bible tell us in 1 John 3:18, "Little children, let us not love in word or talk but in deed and in truth."
God wants us to show good deeds, meaning he wants us to act on love, not just talk about it.
We all have been guilty of saying one thing and doing another, but this is not the truth God wants us to live in. You can't say you love your brother, and curse him at the same time. You have to be consistent in your actions so that they may coincide with the words that come out of your mouth.
Nothing is worse than someone telling you they love you and not showing it. I cannot count the number of times I have had a guy to profess his love for me, but there were no actions behind those words. It is one thing to say you love someone, but it's another thing to actually have someone that shows you that they love you without even having to mumble those three words.
Be mindful of the things you let come out of your mouth, because if your actions do not live up to the promises you are making, then your words are meaningless. Nothing is worse than someone who cannot keep their word, or their actions show that their words do not mean anything.
