"{16} Rejoice always, {17} pray continually, {18} give thanks in all circumstances; for this is God’s will for you in Christ Jesus."- 1 Thessalonians 5:16 - 18 (NIV)
The Bible says to rejoice. We as living human beings should never stop rejoicing in the Lord. If you lose your job, rejoice! Has your relationship failed? Rejoice! Have your so-called friends walked out on you and turned against you? Rejoice! There is nothing new under the sun. God already knows what we are going to go through; therefore, we should not waste time trying to tell God what has happened because he already knows. Instead, give him thanks because he is preparing you for your season of breakthrough.
The fact that you are breathing is enough to continuously give him praise! We all go through seasons of hurt and pain, but during these low points in our life, we should still be thankful and give God praise. Rejoice because you are not dead. Rejoice because you are not in the ICU unit right now. Rejoice because you still have your sight, hearing, and the activity of your limbs.
"Rejoice in the Lord always, again I say: Rejoice!"- Philippians 4:4 (NIV)
One of the most selfish things we can do as Christians is complain and be upset in moments we should be rejoicing. The past 5-8 years were some of the hardest years of my life. I have experienced a substantial amount of hurt and discomfort, but I continued to give thanks because it was in that season that I asked God for my purpose, and he revealed it to me. God promises to take care of us which is why we should never stop rejoicing. Even when our loved ones die, we should rejoice because they are no longer suffering and living in the world full of sin.
We will never understand the reason for the trials we are going through, but we have to understand and be patient because the blessing is coming after the storm. We just have to remain faithful to God, and never stop believing because in His word, he says that he will never leave, nor forsake us. We have to prepare ourselves for what is to come by remaining positive and keeping the love of God in our hearts. Never stop rejoicing and wait on the storm to pass because a beautiful rainbow will come in the end.
